ARIES (March 20 – April 18)

Impulses couldn't be more mixed between you and your lover right now. It's hard to tell if you're getting together or calling it quits. On April 8 the sun will form an opposition to Mars, the warrior planet. Sun and Mars oppositions are famous for conflicts, clashes and crises. However, Mars is weakest in Libra and the retrograde makes it even more non-confrontational. You may hate the fact that you're being so wishy-washy, but in truth you're both trying to find a way to make this relationship work. You need to trust in that.

TAURUS (April 19 – May 19)

You will be absolutely irresistible during this time that your ruling planet Venus is under the beams of Neptune. And you won't have to lose weight, change your hair color or get a boob job. That's because Venus becomes supernaturally hypnotic when she mixes her energy with Neptune, the planet of the imagination and fantasy. Your wish will be every man's command. But this is where you have to be careful because the spell lifts on April 16. Don't go hog wild, be realistic in your aims, and the guy you hook might stick around.

GEMINI (May 20 – June 19)

If only you were as cynical as you sound. Your love life would be so much easier. Neptune in Pisces has been slowly working its magic these past couple of years by softening your edges, opening your heart and making you stay the course when every fiber of your being said leave. So what do you get for all this? Well, not the rewards you would have hoped for. Neptune rarely bestows material gains. But take a look inside and you will see that you are more loving, caring and emotionally fulfilled than ever before.

CANCER (June 20 – July 21)

The reason Cancers are curmudgeonly on the outside is because you're soft on the inside. Like your namesake the Crab, that crusty shell is meant to shield and protect an emotionally tender underbelly. Now just because you know this doesn't mean that other people do. In fact you're so good at sidestepping matters and covering your traces that most men would never imagine that you're attracted to them. This is why it's up to you to lower your defenses and to share what you feel on April 7. It could make all the difference.

LEO (July 22 – Aug. 21)

Men's egos are wired differently than women's. They're much more sensitive and defensive. For instance women have no problem apologizing for a mistake whereas trying to get a man to cough out the words “I'm sorry” without resorting to waterboarding is nearly impossible. This is why it's important to be supportive and welcoming on Tuesday when a penitent lover or spouse re-emerges from his man cave. He knows that he did wrong, but don't confront him with that or rub his nose in it. Be gentle and he'll cop to his crankiness before too long.

VIRGO (Aug. 22 – Sept. 21)

Virgo women won't pair up before they've made it in their career. You don't want the guy spoiling it. But you can wind up being married to your job if you're not careful; living on a steady diet of short-term relationships and extramarital affairs. There is a way to be in a relationship and to not lose yourself in the process. That's why Mars retrograde is making progress so slow and awkward with the fellow you're seeing right now. You're both doing things that you've never done in a relationship before and that's the point.

LIBRA (Sept. 22 – Oct. 21)

There's a lot of free-floating restlessness, frustration and anger coursing through your horoscope right now. Your initial response will be to blame your partner. Libras have a tendency to project their unappealing qualities on to others — not unlike a child dumping her vegetables on a sibling's plate when she's not looking. However, the Mars and sun opposition on April 8 says that you are the source of your own dissatisfaction and that the sooner you own that (at least to yourself) the faster you'll recoup that peace of mind that you're searching for.

SCORPIO (Oct. 22 – Nov. 20)

You crave a lot of emotional attention. It's not something you're comfortable admitting because you're afraid that it makes you appear needy and desperate. Yet this is something that friends already know and chances are that the guy you're seeing has clued into it as well. The beauty of the Venus/Neptune conjunction in Pisces (April 7–16) is that the streaming watery energy makes it easy for you to come clean about your fears and insecurities. Heed the planetary cue. Not only will you find a receptive and sympathetic audience; he'll even think it's sexy.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 21 – Dec. 20)

Are you torn between two lovers and feeling like a fool? Love triangles are pretty common when Mars is in Libra and it looks like Mars's opposition to the sun on April 8 will bring things to a head. But do the geometry first. If he's married, then chances are he's going to go back to her. And if you're the one who's already spoken for? Then do the sums and see what you have to gain by calling it quits. Chances are that you would be on the short end of the equation.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 21 – Jan. 18)

This is a time when it's your partner — and not you — who's in the driver's seat. On the outside this looks fine. He's making good money, he's on top of his game, and his confidence level is high. However, you were born under one of the three control freak signs of the zodiac (the other two are Scorpio and Aquarius) and it's not easy for you to hand over the reins. AQUARIUS (Jan. 19 – Feb. 17)

Take a look at the way you communicate to a loved one this week. How many times do you bring up a weighty issue in the five minutes before you have to leave for work? Do you text and chat at the same time? Does the cat get more lap time than he does? Aquarians are strange creatures. You long for quality time with your other half, but seem unable to sit still long enough to create and nurture it. Make that a higher priority in your life or you'll miss it when it's gone.
