Last week, nurse Libby Sanders posted a simple photo on Facebook that showed her hand on top of her husband's. Pretty run-of-the-mill — but the sweet sentiment attached to it was anything but.

"I was painting my nails and made a comment that I forget I don't have to paint my pinky nail on my left hand," she wrote. "I simply forget that I lost my pinky, but it is always kind of a bummer when I am reminded."
So her husband, Matt, did something any good husband would do — he volunteered to be her finger.

"Matt said 'I will be your surrogate pinky. You can paint my pinky to match your nails for the rest of our lives.' And so we did," she added.

The simple, sweet gesture was a no-brainer for Matt. "She told me how odd it is to not have a pinky and she looked a little disappointed,” he told New York magazine. “I didn’t think about it, I just wanted to make her happy, so I offered up mine in its place.”
Men, take note.
"This is who I married," Libby wrote on Facebook. "I cannot image a sweeter, kinder man. No words adequately describe our love."
