The latest Holderness video touches on this with perfect aplomb, as per usual. They are 40 and parents of two. And, well, let's face it, they are no longer cool. It's OK to say that since I am totally uncool, too. 5 PM date night? Check! Home by 10? Check again.
Holderness
It's so right, people. Look, I am not 40. At least not yet. Though I am closing in on it. And the truth is, my "cool" days left long ago. I had my first baby in my late 20's and let's just say, that's the last time I remember being cool. So it's not just 40. It's parenthood.

Date night may look uncool. And it is. But I don't want to keep up with the 20-year-old kids doing shots. I just want to be able to hold my own with my husband. I want us to have nights alone where we chat about more than who did the dishes and who changed the last diaper. Date night is great for that.
The Holderness family is the best and they always crack me up and here they get it right. But for everything "uncool" about date night and parenthood and marriage (and the age of 40), what you get in terms of stability and love and laughter is so much richer.

That scene of the two of them reading? That is my life. And it's a good life. It's not cool, but it is so much hotter.
