More: Reducing the risk of breast cancer recurrence through diet changes
Her first audio clip shows Lara trying to articulate her feelings right after her diagnosis: “The sh*t thing about this is telling people, I don't want people to be upset. I think about the fact that I haven't found love, and I won't. I think about not being around to have children and a family. I'm thinking “f***, I might not be here in a year's time.”
One year later, following a lumpectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, things are pretty different. Lara is now free of cancer and has shared an extremely inspirational video to provide support to other young women going through a similar thing.
Lara revealed on her blog why she shared her "Get Your Tits Out" video: "I want it to show the truth about Breast Cancer. It's not pink and it's not fluffy. It sucks big fat balls! And it can happen to anyone."

Lara's ass-kicking approach to cancer has seen her keep a positive attitude while undergoing several painful, life-threatening operations and gruelling treatment sessions. She's thrown cancer parties, shared pictures of her bald head on social media to show her support for other cancer patients who are losing their hair and even made her own Breaking Bad parody video to argue against the privatisation of the NHS.

Not only is Lara now in remission, one year after her diagnosis, she's found the love she thought was out of the question.
"I felt really sad because I'd been single for quite a few years and I was ready for a relationship. But London is not the easiest place to meet someone. I've had relationships, but there was no chance I was going to meet someone in the middle of treatment," she told Metro.
Then the unexpected happened: "A mutual friend posted my blog on her Facebook in April and Mikey read my blog post and sent me a message. He's got cystic fibrosis and he said that he wanted to tell me how much he loved my blog and that he knew how much I was going through.
"When you have a life threatening illness, you kind of feel like you're not on the same level as all the healthy people on Earth, but you're not quite dead in heaven so you're in the middle, you're one step closer to death. So he and I shared this connection of having a life threatening illness and shared an understanding of death."
"I was worried about meeting someone who wouldn't understand, I would worry someone wouldn't go near me because I was 'damaged' goods. It's really nice to find somebody that isn't put off by all this," she added.
Lara is raising money for Breast Cancer Now by jumping out of a plane in 2016. Donate to her cause here.
