The International Business Times (this is business!) reported that the couple planned to renew their vows on the Eiffel Tower, although Kimye did not publicize the actual vow exchange nor post any pictures of the event to their social media accounts.
Call me a day drinker, but I think they might be on to something. As long as you avoid a vow renewal ceremony as a last-ditch effort to save a floundering marriage or an excuse to wear a fancy dress again, here are nine reasons why such a ceremony is actually a really incredible and touching testament to love.
1. Your loved ones missed your wedding
If you eloped or a loved one couldn't make your original ceremony, a vow renewal can be a beautiful way to acknowledge the ways your family members and friends have supported you as a couple — and it might even put some old resentments to rest.
2. You are welcoming a new journey as a couple
Does parenthood await you? Perhaps an international move? As you embark on a new journey together, there is no better time to reaffirm the love that started you down the path that awaits.

3. You want to include the kids
I still remember the day my parents celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with a vow renewal. I was only 10 years old, but it was so special to see them promise their love and affection to one another all over again — particularly since I missed the first promise. A vow renewal can be a gift to give to your children, in addition to your spouse.
4. Your first big day was a total disaster
Stomach virus on your wedding day? You totally have a pass for a vow renewal.
5. You now know what it means to love
Maybe you're a little older and a little wiser. Maybe you didn't really understand your vows the first time around. Your vows are all the more meaningful when you vow to love and to cherish now that you actually understand how challenging those promises are to keep.
6. You want an excuse to get away together
A beachfront vow renewal? Go right ahead.
7. You overcame a rough patch
Many couples renew their vows after enduring a terrible circumstance — like a cancer diagnosis, a death of a loved one or even a bankruptcy. You persisted and endured. Although your vows are now colored by experience, that makes them all the more powerful to utter again.

8. You're more financially fit to throw a soirée
If your first exchange of vows was limited by your financial status and you celebrated with some fruit punch at the local courthouse, it's totally acceptable to throw an awesome bash once you've put away a little money for a proper party.
9. You want to celebrate your love
More than anything in the world, love is to be celebrated and toasted. Check yourself. Do you want to raise a glass to the love you built, or to the beauty of a fancy new dress? If it's the first option, enjoy the celebration as many times as you want.
